| Farmers Awareness camp held at Town Hall Pulwama | | | PULWAMA : To apprise farmers about the latest farming techniques & mechanization to be adopted, a daylong Farmers Awareness cum Training Camp under Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) was organized by Farmers Training & Education Centre Department of Agriculture at Town Hall Pulwama. On this occasion, Deputy Director Farmers’ Training & Education Centre, Hakeem Manzoor Ahmad said that traditional Style of Agriculture should give way to modern high tech Agriculture to boost agriculture production. He stressed on shifting focus on cash crops. Training Officer, Sheikh Nisar Ahmad said that our target should be to yield maximum production from minimum area by introducing new techniques. He advised farmers to coordinate with agriculture & allied departments to take benefits from the schemes launched by the departments. He gave the detailed lecture on various farmer friendly schemes under ATMA. A large number of farmers of various villages of district including panches and sarpanches participated in this camp and interacted with experts of agriculture & allied sectors on various issues related to agriculture & allied sectors. Farmers hailed the role of Agriculture department for organizing such awareness camps and stressed for organizing such camps at Tehsil/Block level, so as to reach to the maximum number of farmers. Among others officers & officials of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Sericulture were present in the camp and delivered lectures on the achievements of their respective departments during the year 2012-13 & the targets fixed for the current year 2013-14 under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes. |
