DDC reviews post earthquake relief measures

DODA, May 18 : To review the post earthquake relief and rehabilitation measures taken by the District administration in the District and to chalk out the strategy to meet out all the requirements of the earthquake affected people, District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. Mubarak Singh today convened a meeting of officers at Doda.
Additional District Development Commissioner Doda Mr. G.N Balwan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mr. Anil Koul, Chief Planning Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda Mr. Rakesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda Mr. Niraj Kumar besides Executive Officer Municipality, Tehsildar Doda, Block Development Officers and other officers of the District Administration attended the meeting.
While speaking on the occasion DDC impressed upon the officers to make free and fair distribution of relief and assistance among the affected families in the District so that each and every deserving family get benefited and sigh of relief. He said the affected people are facing a lot of difficulties as various houses have suffered damages, he directed the officers to ensure delivery of essential services at an earliest to the affected people.
Mr. Singh also asked the officers not to leave the station without prior permission and valid reasons. He directed the officers to ensure that the temporary shelter tents should be provided to the affected families. He constituted a team of officers to monitor the distribution and physical verification of tents so that all the affected people get temporary shelter.
He said that the tents provided to the affected people should be pitched in open and safe spaces and not in the premises of any house so that 3-4 adjoining families can also get accommodated at a centrally located place.
He also underlined the need to create awareness among the people of the region about the safety and precautions to be taken in such natural calamities for the minimum loss of life and property in future eventualities. He directed Health Department Doda to ensure 24 hr availability of Doctors and para-medical Staff for the benefit of poor people of the region.
While culminating the meeting DDC asked the officers to work in a coordinated manner so that the people of the region get timely and swift assistance in such natural calamities and asked the people to pay no heed to the rumours.
