DSWK discusses welfare measures for earthquake affectees

SRINAGAR: A meeting of Officers of Social Welfare Department and registered NGOs of Kashmir Division was convened under the Chairmanship of Director, Social Welfare Kashmir here today.
The Director Social Welfare stressed for ensuring vibrant and reciprocal NGO culture so that the benefits percolate down to the needy people of the society through the intervention and active participation of NGOs besides the intervention from NGOs should have longevity on the one hand and must lead to self reliance of target population on the other thereby leading to overall welfare of the community.
The welfare measures for the earth quake affected people of Doda and Kishtwar districts were also deliberated.
It was impressed upon all NGOs that they shall gear up in this hour of exigency to extend utmost help to the needy ones. The NGOs in turn assured their resolve to extend their help to the people of quake hit areas.
