early times report UDHAMPUR, MAY 22 - In a bid to promote literary activities in the District, the District Administration here organized a Multilingual Mushaira at the premises of Government P.G. College, Udhampur. The Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal was the chief guest on the occasion. The prominent and budding poets of the district who recited their poems at the literary meet were Parkash Premi, Balraj Bakshi, A.S. Anjum, Jia Lal Jia, Surat Singh, S. D Kotwal, Jagdeep Dubey, Surjeet Singh Hosh, M.R. Bhamgi, M.K. Pagal, Bachiter Singh Bairagi, Ifitkar Ahmed . Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Mudgal said that holding of such activities help to create stress free atmosphere where people can visualize the essence and problems of human life in a clearer manner. She said that the creative works of writers and poets were reflection of society and help its members to identify the shortcomings and find a solution for the same. The Deputy Commissioner said that the administration would continue its endeavors to promote literary and cultural activities across the district by holding such programmes. She appreciated the participants for presenting a meaningful and entertaining poetic session. Earlier, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Surat Singh, presented formal welcome address and said that the administration, understanding its responsibility, shall organize more such activities in future also. Joint Director Planning, Udhampur, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, presented vote of thanks. Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Udhampur and Reasi, Superintendent of Police, Udhampur, District Officers, college staff, besides a large number of civil society members were present on the occasion.
