Ajaz for expeditious disbursement of land acquisition amounts
Asks Rev Officers to check land laws violations in their areas

SRINAGAR, June 11 : Minister of State for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Mr. Ajaz Ahmad Khan has asked the collectors of land acquisition across the State to finalize all pending cases of land acquisition at the earliest and ensure that the compensation amount is disbursed within the shortest time.
Addressing a meeting of all the collectors of land acquisition for PMGSY in the State, the Minister directed expeditious processing of cases so that the land donors are awarded compensation at the earliest.
The Minister advised the collectors to comply with the provisions of Land Acquisition Act and complete the process of land acquisition without any lacuna. He asked the collectors to re double their efforts in this regard adding that we should facilitate the road connectivity across the State for the betterment of people. He said he would be reviewing the status of the land acquisition in the State after every two or three months.
Mr. Ajaz asked the collectors to submit their red accounts regularly for an updated status of projects. He advised them to make rehabilitation a part of acquisition process so that the land donors are properly compensated.
Assuring all support to collectors in achieving their targets, the Minister said the achieving officers would be duly rewarded and erring ones punished. He asked them to undertake regular tours of their areas and apprise themselves with the ground situation. He asked them to check violations of Agrarian Reforms Act and land alienation with determination and undertake girdawari as per the fard e rafter. He said Government has vested them with all statutory powers and they should use them for the betterment of people.
Mr. Ajaz asked the Revenue officers to respect the deadline of issuing PRCs, fards, extracts etc as put in the Public Services Guarantee Act. He expressed satisfaction over the process of land transfers made so far in some districts and urged the collectors to disburse the money to the farmers immediately and not let the compensation money get blocked with them.
The meeting was told that in the districts of Kulgam, Leh, Shopian, Anantnag and Kishtwar cent per cent land has been transferred to the user agency whileas in districts of Srinagar, Kargil, Bandipora, Budgam etc. around 80 per cent of the transfers have taken place. Secretary, Revenue, Mr. Vinod Kaul, all the 35 collectors including Additional DCs, ACRs and SDMs were present in the meeting.
