SRINAGAR, June 11 : A presentation on proposed J&K SRTC Commercial Complex coming up at a cost of Rs. 200 crore near Railway Station Jammu was made here at SKICC today. Minister for CA&PD, Transport and Chairman J&K SRTC Ch. Mohammad Ramzan, Minister for Housing and Floriculture, Mr. Raman Bhalla, Minister of State for Industries & Commerce, Mr. Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo were present on the occasion. Around 600 canals of land have been acquired for construction of 7-floor complex with 2-levels of car parking of 500 cars. The plan has been designed by architect B. V. Sharma Associates and the Executing Agency will be J&K Housing Board, the complex will house shopping arcade, cafes, anchor stores, food court, offices and 3 multiplexes. Addressing the meeting, Ch. Ramzan said that the matter will be deliberated threadbare and project will be launched after finalization of required terms and conditions and taken up appropriately. He asked the officers concerned to check all the pros and cons of the project and give proper thought to the proposal so that the project proves a grand success for revenue earning as well as providing required facilities to the stakeholders of the complex. Minister for Housing, Mr. Raman Bhalla on this occasion said that the Housing Board has developed 14 colonies, 494 flats under self-financing scheme and 1240 flats for darbar move employees. He said that the Board has a proposal of setting up of new housing colonies and is working as executing agency for various infrastructural development projects of the State. He said, the Board constructed District Hospitals at Samba, Bandipora, Pulwama and SDH Akhnoor and Hajan, GNM Akhnoor and PHC, Gutlibagh. Further deliberating upon future plans, Mr. Bhalla said that the flats at Chani Himmat, Ambedkar Chowk, Baghi Mehtab and rental flats for darbar move employees are in pipeline. The Minister of State for Home, Mr. Sajjad Kitchloo impressed upon officers to work in unison and cooperation so that the projects are completed in stipulated time-frame. He said that the judicious use of funds and maintenance of quality are pre-requisite of taking up any project in the State. Earlier, MD, Housing Board, Mr. Kiran Wattal apprised the meeting about the achievements of the Board and assured that every effort will be put in to ensure quality and judicious use of funds. Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Mr. Jeet Lal Gupta, Secretary Transport, Mr. Mehraj Kakroo, Managing Director, JKSRTC, Mr. Tandon, Managing Director, Housing Board, Mr. Kiran Wattal and senior consultant Architect, Mr. A. R. Karan Badyal also attended the function. |
