| Hilly, tough terrains receiving focused attention: Tara Chand | | Inaugurates newly constructed classrooms | |
JAMMU : Carrying forward initiative to reach out to people living in tough terrains of Khour constituency, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand held a day long tour of hilly areas of Mallah, Pukharni, Garhnada, Bharore and adjoining areas. Describing development of hilly and tough terrains of the State as priority of the government, Tara Chand said landmark initiatives have been taken to upgrade facilities of healthcare, education, power, PHE and R&B in these areas. He said development policy of the government has been fine tuned to cater to the requirements of such areas and focused attention is being paid to uplift and develop remote belt of the state. “Various central and state government funded projects have been initiated to address the development aspirations of people living in hilly and far-off areas and all out efforts are afoot to upgrade infrastructure in these areas,” he added.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Chief Education Officer and other officers of civil administration accompanied during the tour. Responding to demands projected by people at Bharore for upgradation of middle school, better road connectivity, teaching staff requirements and power infrastructure up gradation, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the government is alive to the problems faced by people of the area and the genuine demands would be addressed in a phased manner. He said the government is fully committed to improve education scenario in the state and quality education is priority of the government. “SSA and RMSA are flagship schemes under which better education facilities would be created all across the state”, he added. At Garhnada, the Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated three additional class rooms constructed under SSA. At Mallah, he inaugurated addition classroom constructed under SSA.
Addressing the gathering at Mallah, Tara Chand reiterated commitment of the government to provide adequate facilities to the students and working for universalizing school education in the state. He said concerned teachers should ensure that special care is taken towards overall personality development of the students and physical as well as mental growth is given due attention.
Stressing on improving enrolment in government schools, Tara Chand today said that focused approach has to be followed for improving enrolment of children in respective institutions. He said the department is working on the roadmap to achieve the target of cent percent registration in schools.
He appealed the parents and members of civil society to be partners with the department in achieving the objective of spreading education to every nook and corner of the state. |
