| Gurezi concludes 3-day tour to Gurez | | | SRINAGAR : Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today visited various areas including Dawar, Bagtore and Kanzwal of Tehsil Gurez and took stock of the people problems besides developmental needs. He also inspected proposed site for hospital building which is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore. The Minister also inspected the renovation work of Sheep Wool Development Office Gurez costing Rs 2.5 lakh and ongoing construction work of drain at Dawar costing Rs 4 lakh. The Minister directed the executing agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace on all developmental works being executed under different sectors in the Tehsil. He asked them to ensure completion of works in a time bound manner with directions to the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities to complete electrification work of Budoaab village and ensure it by June end. The Minister was informed that the construction work on protection wall on Sardaab-Tulail road of Rs 5 lakh is in full swing. At the proposed hospital site, the Minister directed Tehsildar Gurez to settle land acquisition case for link road leading towards the proposed site of the Hospital immediately so that the construction work on the hospital building is started. The Minister also launched Para-gliding event in Gurez for attracting sports and adventures lovers and tourists to the beautiful and picturesque valley of Gurez. Interacting with the local people at different places during his tour, the Minister said that government is determined to boost the tourism sector so that more employment avenues are generated and prosperity is assured in every nook and corner of the State. He said Government has taken several initiatives to improve the civic amenities at various tourist resorts in Gurez. He said that the efforts are afoot to bring Gurez on tourist map of the State. He said need is to create infrastructure for tourist stay and develop more tourist destinations in Gurez Valley for the benefit of the local population. |
