Joint delegation of Railway Station Hotels & Lodges and Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Associations calls on Governor

SRINAGAR: A joint delegation of the Railway Station Hotels & Lodges Association and Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association, Jammu called on Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, at Raj Bhavan, here today and presented to him two Memoranda containing their demands.
The delegation led by Mr. Baldev Khullar, President of the Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association and Mr. Bhuvaneshwar Gandotra, President, Railway Station Hotels & Lodges Association congratulated the Governor for his continuing association with the future growth of the State and honoured him by presenting him a memento. The Governor discussed with the delegation the to-date status of the implementation of the various components of the Raghunath Bazar Beautification Project.
The demands presented by the delegation included, interalia, grant of financial assistance for the speedy completion of the Raghunath Bazar Beautification Project; installation of Cable Car Projects at Jammu and Patnitop; time bound completion of Mubarak Mandi Heritage Conservation Project; speedy development of Suruinsar, Bani, Basohli and other areas in Jammu region from the tourism point of view. The Association particularly made the aforesaid demands because of their apprehension that, after train services extend to Katra, the pilgrims visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine should be attracted to halt at Jammu and visit various scenic spots and religious places in the surrounding areas and also visit other parts of the State. They also brought to the Governor’s notice issues concerning the group of guest houses which are located opposite the Railway Station, Jammu. The delegation comprised Mr. Anoop Jain, Mr. Om Mahajan, Mr. Narinder Sharma and Mr. Baldev Singh, Executive Members of the Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association.
Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor, was present on this occasion.
