Exposure tour of sheep breeding farmers flagged off

Srinagar: District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Srinagar today flagged off 30 progressive sheep breeders for one day advance awareness tour from Srinagar to Sheep Breeding Farm, Kralpathri located in the outskirts of district Budgam. The tour was arranged by the Department for sheep breeders under centrally sponsored sche-me ATMA to encourage the progressive farmers towards sheep rearing industry. The farmers during the tour were acquainted with profitable and better sheep rearing technology skills to enhance the sheep production. District Sheep Husbandry Officer, Srinagar apprised breeders about the schemes that are specially designed to encourage unemployed youth to set up sheep rearing units.
He further added that such tours will prove beneficial in rearing sheep in the rural and hilly areas of the district on scientific basis and assured to provide full support to the interested farmers.
