| 3-Day 'Baba Jitto Mela' starting from June 22 Series of events planned to attract maximum number of visitors | | | REASI, June 20 : The District administration today finalized the arrangements for the annual 'Baba Jitto Mela'.
The 3-day fair scheduled to start from June 22 at village Agar Jitto, near Katra would feature special events planned by the government departments and private organizations to attract maximum number of visitors, particularly the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
The Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has asked the line departments to make in advance all the arrangements entrusted to each of them and ensure that the visitor do not face any inconvenience. To add to the attraction of the event, the Reserve Bank of India is hosting a coin show , while departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Social Welfare and others would put up stalls to educate people about their respective schemes.
Similarly Natrang Theater Group, Jammu would stage its acclaimed Play on the life and struggle of the farmer saint Baba Jitoo on the first two days of the event, whereas a wrestling competition with participation of wrestlers from across the country would be held on June 24 .
The district administration has made elaborate security arrangements as additional personnel from state police and para-military forces would be deployed as part of tight security arrangements. |
