| Vakil terms PM's Kashmir visit successful | | | Rafiabad, June 28 : Former minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil Friday hailed the visit of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and described it a successful, fruitful and meaningful visit In a statement Vakil lauded Prime Minister for inviting Hurriyat and all those who are ready to shun violence for talks. "Prime Minister and UPA Chairperson had come with an open mind to engage every concerned quarter across Kashmir Valley. We should not miss this opportunity which has been provided to us by New Delhi," he said while addressing public meeting at Rawoocha, Yarbugh and Sein Hachepora in Rafiabad. Vakil urged Hurriyat Conference to shun abhorrence and respond to the dialogue offer positively for bringing an end to spate of violence across Kashmir valley 'then only amicable solution of Kashmir issue is possible. "Violence, shutdown, curfew are all going to further worsen the situation. Willingness of Hurriyat leadership to participate in dialogue process would brighten chances of bringing permanent peace across Kashmir Valley," he added Vakil also appealed to the Hurriyat leaders to discontinue with the practices of announcing strikes which results into great inconveniences to general masses and give an opportunity to vested interests to loot the state exchequer as the tourist season is at its peak. |
