| Petition against alleged mis-appropriation of more than Rs 94 lakh in Doda Municipalily | | HC directs SSP Doda comply with order or appear in person | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 28: In a petition filed by Dr. Rehmatullah Vice President Ruling National Conference Doda seeking investigation from primer investigating agency Vigilance Organization or Crime Branch regarding the alleged allegations of misappropriation Rs 94, 56, 493/- in Doda Municipality as he was lodged the FIR at Police Station Doda which was registered on July 9, 2012 but after lapse of about one year except collection of records nothing was done and seeking the transfer of case from Doda Police to VOJ or Crime Branch.
Justice AM Magrey after hearing Adv SS Ahmed appearing for the petitioners issued notice to respondents returnable within two weeks and in the meanwhile Court directed SSP Doda to submit the status report regarding progress of investigation in FIR NO 153/2012 and he shall also monitor the investigation in the case and ensure that investigation is complete within a period of one month henceforth. Justice AM Magrey further directed in case SSP Doda fails to comply with the order, he shall remain personally present along with case dairies on the next date of hearing. In the petition it has been submitted that the petitioner is a RTI Activist and also Vice President Ruling National Conference Doda that several deputation during public hearing apprised him about the huge bunglings and misappropriation of funds by the officials of Municipal Committee Doda in connivance with high-ups of the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies. The petitioner field an RTI and on May 14, 2012 Executive Officer Municipal Committee Doda furnished the part of information and after scanning the same, the petitioner was surprised to know that huge sum of Rs 72, 21, 000has been incurred on the wages of staff numbering 78 for cleanliness and the sanitation of 13 wards of Doda Municipal Committee in addition to permanent safai Karmacharies. In the reply in RTI It has also been mentioned that during the period from 2008 to 2012 within 1 ½ KM Municipal Limit Rs 12, 98, 797 stands incurred on POL. Thirdly disinfectants to the tune of Rs 5, 78, 518 have been utilized since 2008 to 2012w which activity the people of Doda has never seen also drawal of 309420/- by Executive Officer Doda Municipal for travel allowance and Rs 48, 758 for repair computer whereas new computer is not more than this amount and he lodged FIR in the year July 2012.
