| Conservation plan for Doodhganga, Apziari, Shaliganga Nallas in offing: Rather | | |
CHADOORA: Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Ab. Rahim Rather has said that a comprehensive flood protection and soil conservation plan on three important Nallas of Apziari, Doodhganga and Shaliganga is being conceived to save agricultural land and other constructions located at their banks. He asked the engineers of Flood Control Department to immediately identify and prioritize the vulnerable and erosion prone areas located near these Nallas so that estimates are prepared and works executed on need basis. Addressing a public gathering at Chowdhary Gund village of Tehsil Chadoora, Mr.Rather assured the people that promises made to them will be fulfilled earnestly and all the available resources are being pooled to redress their all genuine grievances as per their urges and aspirations. He reiterated Govt’s. resolve to ensure availability of all the basic facilities to the people adding that equitable development and uniform justice to all with focus on poor and backward areas was its mission. Saying that employment generation was the top most priority of the Govt., Mr. Rather said a multi pronged strategy has been devised throughout the state to tackle the employment problem. In this regard, he made a mention of SKEWPY, Entrepreneurship development and skill development initiatives under EDI, Udaan and Himayat programmes. He assured the local youth that all the possibilities will be explored to conduct on the spot Police Recruitment Rally at some suitable central place in the area.
“We want to remove gloom and despair by bringing hope and happiness on the faces of people who have suffered a lot due to decades’ long turmoil in the State”, Mr. Rather added.
Cautioning people against disruptive elements inimical to peace and prosperity, Mr. Rather said that there should be no politics at the cost of development. He further asked the people to unitedly seek their rights and differentiate between their real friends and foes.
Responding to the demands of the people, Mr. Rather asked the concerned engineers to start process for revival of Saidanaar and Narbal Khul in the area to augment irrigation facilities. He also announced setting up of a health sub centre and fencing of middle school at Chowdhary Gund. He also announced grants for laying transmission wires and electric poles in Chowdhary Gund and Chak Banagund.
District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mr. Khurshid Ahmed Shah and concerned engineers and officers of district administration accompanied the Minister during the tour.
Earlier, the Minister was accorded a rousing reception on reaching the venue. |
