| Gul pays obeisance at Chrar-i-Sharief | | Prays for progress, prosperity of the State | |
SRINAGAR : The Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mubarak Gul today visited Chrar-i-Sharief and took stock of the arrangements made for the devotees coming from across the State for paying obeisance at Zirat Sharief of Hazrat Sheikh Noor Din WAli(RT).
The Speaker after offering Nimaz, paid obeisance at Zirat Sharief of Hazrat Sheikh Noor Din Wali (RT) and prayed for progress and prosperity of the State.
Interacting with the devotees, Mr Gul enquired about the arrangements made by the government for their convenience, including providing safe drinking water, health care and transport facilities. The people appreciated the efforts of the Government for taking necessary steps in this regard. He also greeted the people on the eve of Holy month of Ramadan.
On the occasion, the people demanded release of funds from Auqaf for further development of the Zamia Masjid and cleanliness in and around the shrine. Mr. Gul assured them that their genuine demands would be taken with the concerned authorities on priority.
Earlier, several deputations across the state met the Speaker at his official residence and projected their individual and collective problems. These included construction of lanes and drains, replacement of damaged transformers, ensuring of adequate drinking water facilities, uninterrupted power supply and adequate availability of essential commodities during the holy month of Ramzan.
The Speaker gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be solved in a phased manner. In some cases, he issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their grievances. |
