| Indian prisoners treated cruelly in Pak jails, JKHRW alleges | | | ET Report Jammu, Aug 4: The Chairman J&K Human Rights watch (JKHRW) B L Kapoor Sunday alleged that the Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails including some females have been treated with cruel attitude and rendered mentally damaged due to torture in the jails. In a statement he said the prisoners have been facing inhuman and cruel attitude. "The Indian prisoners have been demanding for writing letter to Indian Human Rights activist to seek help and justice in time but they are not allowed even sign the letter," he said. Kapoor regretted the injustice and undue punishment to the Indian prisoners jailed in Pakistan. He also said that two other Indian prisoners namely Sarabjeet Singh and Chamel Singh were murdered by Pakistanis in January and April this year which is matter of grave concern and the Indian government should take immediate necessary action in this connection so that the Indian prisoners lodged in Pakistani jails may be got rescued from the cruel and in human treatment of Pakistani authorities, besides this another Indian prisoners Zakir Ahmed son of Mumtaz Ahmed was not provided proper treatment of his illness and died in Pak. Jail. Kapoor said that the Pakistani prisoners whenever jailed in India have been treated with the humanitarian grounds and provided all necessary requirements which are due to the prisoners and also treated with the law of the land but it is surprising that Indian prisoners in Pakistani jails either killed or mentally tortured and inhuman treatment meted out to them. |
