| Pak does it again, targets Indian posts in Poonch | | | Jammu, Aug 24: Belligerent Pakistan army is not ready to mend its ways as Pak troops fired on Indian forward posts with small arms and automatic weapons along the LoC in the Poonch area around 0700 hrs today. Meanwhile during a search operation security forces busted hide out in Gool of Ramban and recovered arms and ammunition. According to Defence Spokesperson Col R K Palta said, fresh ceasefire violation was reported around 7.00 a.m in Poonch sector and the small arms firing continued for about 40 minutes in the area.He said the Indian troops guarding the border line retaliated strongly. "No casualty was reported in the area during the Pak firing, he added. The Pakistani troops have been daily resorting to ceasefire violations since August six when its special forces killed five Indian soldiers in Poonch. There have been over 80 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops this year from January 1. Defence Minister A K Antony had recently stated that the Army has been given a free hand to retaliate to deal with violations on the Line of Control. Meanwhile, in a related development army jawans busted a hide out of militants in Gool area of Ramban and recovered arms cache including one AK 56 Rifle, one pistol of chinese origin, two magazines of AK 56 rifle and 16 empty cartridges. |
