Lovelorn youngsters dominate list of victims of Conman

JAMMU, Aug 24: Lovelorn were among most of the people who were badly duped by the conman (Dongi Baba), arrested by Canal Road police, a couple of days ago.
After the news of the arrest of the conman was spread, the aggrieved people approached to police to lodge FIR against him. Police sources said that among the victims, most of the people were lovelorn. The conman took hefty amount from the lovers to settle their scores. Baba took a photo of the girl and assured the lovelorn about her entanglement with him. He also charged hefty amount for the purpose.
Police received dozen of the complaints of such nature. Pertinent to mention here that police arrested a Dongi baba along with his associate from their office at Krishna Nagar Jammu for allegedly duping people of their valuables and cash by claiming resolve of personal and business problems. Meanwhile one of their associate still is evading his arrest and manhunt is on.
Police sources said a conman identified namely Naseer-ud-Din S/O Ahmed Hassan R/O Tarapori Lisadi Meerut (UP) along with his associate namely Mohd Rayees S/O Mohd Khalil R/O Ismail Nagar Meerut (UP) were apprehended from their office at Krishna Nagar Jammu. "Both the accused had been running an office in the name of MS Khan Bharti where they duped people of their valuables and cash by claiming that their matter regarding love affairs, matrimonial, personal problems will be solved with full guarantee within 72 hours, police said.
Among the victims of this conman one woman who also was duped of Rs 55,000/-on the pretext of solving her problem. However, when things remained unchanged despite passing of 72 hrs, the lady demanded her money back; the cheaters misbehaved and allegedly use unparliamentarily language against her.
Police said, "The lady then reported the matter to Police Post Canal and following her complaint, a case against FIR 130/13 under section 420/509/RPC P/S Nowabad. Preliminary investigation in the case revealed that the conman (Dongi Baba) with his associates cheated number of innocent people and took away their cash on false promises."
"The modus Oparandi in order to attract general people especially women was that they publish their advertisement in newspapers and local TV Channels for solving the personal/ business problems, police said and further added, "the duo of cheaters had hired an office in Malhotra Complex Canal Road Jammu by paying Rs. 4000 per month." The arrest was made by I/C PP Canal Road SI Hilal Azhar and SHO Nowabad SI Jaipal Sharma under the supervision of SP North JS Johar Singh under the close supervision of SSP Jammu Atul Goel, police said.
Police said, "One of the swindlers identified namely as Mohd Sadiq S/O Mohd Yameen R/O Shastri Nagar Meerut (UP) is still absconding. More revelations in this regard are expected from the disclosures of the duo held here today.
