Sports Reporter SRINAGAR, Aug 24: The fire-brand innings from middle order batsman, Vishwajeet today guided Ahad Sultan to a close win over star-studded side of Simulah Bulls in the Jammu and Kashmir Corporate Premier League (JKCPL) at Kashmir University ground, here. Vishwajeet played unbeaten innings of 47 runs coming off just 27 deliveries with the help of four hits over the fence. Earlier, batting first, after Ahad won the toss and opted to field, Simulah set a target of 148 runs for five wickets. Shashi Kumar and Hardeep played superb innings of half centuries to help the side set a competitive total. While Shashi made 59 (off 51 balls, 5x4,1x6) runs, Hardeep played 52 (off 33 balls, 5x4, 1x6) runs innings. Jaswinder Singh contributed 13 runs. From Ahad Sultans, Abid Nabi clinched two wickets and Umar Dar bagged one. In reply, Ahad Sultans chased the target in 19.5 overs with three wickets in hand. Besides Vishwajeet, Ulfat and Abid Nabi also batted well contributing 33 and 23 runs respectively. Rayees Khande added valuable 18 runs. From Simulah Bulls, Hilal Rather, Hardeep Singh and Sameer Khajuria took two wickets each. For his match winning innings, Vishwajeet Singh was named man of the match. |
