Srinagar, Aug 24: A 'National Integration' tour has been undertaken by the Army for the children of far flung border areas of Gurez Valley of Jammu and Kashmir under 'Operation Sadhbhavana' to enable them to have a feel of unity in diversity of our country besides giving them an exposure to current progress in various fields. According to a defence communiqué the tour is being conducted by Gurez Brigade for 24 Gujjar and Bakarwal children and four teachers. "During their stay, they interacted with Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and also visited Lotus Temple, Raj Ghat, Indira Gandhi Museum, Birla House, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Rail Museum and India Gate. Children had a joy ride of their lifetime in the Delhi metro." "The aim of the tour is to provide a brief exposure to the development, quality of life and historical places of our country. The tour will also instill a sense of awareness, patriotism and national integration amongst the children of these border areas. The tour will further cover the pink city of Jaipur and the city of temples Jammu in the subsequent days," it added. |
