UDHAMPUR, Aug 24: Police have claimed to solve a hit and run case by arresting the accused driver responsible for the fatal accident near Channi Morh on Dhar road, Udhampur in which two persons killed.
According to police sources, last night at about 8 pm, an unknown vehicle hit a scooter bearing registration number UP 78 D-4712 near Channi Morh and fled away, resulting into instant death of a father-son duo and injuries to one lady, who were riding on the two-wheeler.
Based on the information, a police party of Police Station Udhampur swung into action and after hectic efforts ascertained the details of the vehicle Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK14-5271 and its driver identified as Sham Lal of Munshi Ram of Salora, Manwal. Police party further ascertained the mobile number of the driver.
Thereafter utilizing the technical and human intelligence, police party ultimately arrested the accused driver within 24 hours of the commission of crime. The involved vehicle was also seized and brought to Police Station Udhampur. |
