Outward Hajj flights from Sept 7; Inward flights from Oct 20 to Nov 5

Srinagar, Aug 24 : Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah reviewed arrangements put in place by the State Hajj Committee and various State and Central Departments for the conduct of Hajj-2013 from the State, at a high level meeting he chaired here on Friday.
The meeting was informed that outward Hajj flights from Srinagar embarkation point will operate from to Sept 7 to Sept 23. The corresponding inward flights will operate from October 20 to November 5. There will be two flights daily with a capacity of 275 pilgrims in each flight. The flights will operate directly from Srinagar to Madina Munawara. A total number of 8,664 pilgrims are proceeding for Hajj this year.
The Director Health Kashmir told the meeting that vaccination against meningitis, polio and influenza for Aazmeen-e-Hajj will start from August 29.
In the presentation made by Secretary State Hajj Committee, Fayaz Ahmad, it was stated that arrangements for transportation of Hajj pilgrims from Jammu have been finalized. He said accommodation of Jammu pilgrims at Hajj House Jammu are also in place and Administrator Auqaf Jammu will be the Nodal Officer for Jammu Division for coordination between various departments. He said arrangements for boarding and lodging for 200 pilgrims are available at Srinagar Hajj House. He said measures have also been put in place to provide uninterrupted power supply to Hajj House. He said two X-ray machines are being installed at Hajj House Srinagar for screening of baggage.
Chief Minister directed for ensuring all facilities to the Aazmeen-e-Hajj to make their stay, and travel from and to the State hassle-free and comfortable.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Union Government for operating direct Hajj flights from Srinagar to Madina Munawara this year again and added that it has relieved the Aazmeen-e-Hajj from various difficulties and hassles.
Minister for Hajj and Auqaf, Peerzada Mohammad Sayed, Members of the Hajj Committee, various Administrative Secretaries, Heads of the Departments and senior officers participated in the meeting.
The Members of the Hajj Committee, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Ali Mohammad Dar, Moulana Akhzar Hussain, Advocate Abdul Gani Dar, Haji Nisar Ali and Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat discussed various matters in the meeting relating to the smooth conduct of Hajj-2013.
