| Police arrested molester within 48 hrs | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur , Aug 24: Udhampur police arrested one criminal identified as Fareed Mohd son Mohd Ismail of Leri, Udhampur within 48 hours of the commission of crime by the Police party dispatched to Qazigund for apprehending the criminal. The criminal was accused of molesting a woman in village Leri Udhampur, raising waves of strong resentment among the general public of the Leri, Udhampur.
According to sources, on August 21 a complaint was received in Police Station Udhmapur regarding molestation of a woman by a habitual criminal namely Fareed Mohd son of Mohd Ismail of Leri, Udhampur. Based on this information, an FIR bearing Registration No. 253/2013 under section 354/RPC was lodged and district Police Udhampur swung into action and rushed towards the spot. Subsequently, the police parties of district Police Udhampur were dispatched in various suspicious areas viz towards Kashmir, Jammu and Punjab to apprehend the criminal. All the human and technical resources were activated to nab the criminal at the earliest. The aggrieved general public of the area launched strong protest in this regard and blocked National Highway near Jaganu Morh.
However, the protestors were pacified that the accused would be arrested at the earliest and stern action would be taken against him. Subsequently, police parties activated for the job conducted raids in various suspicious areas to nab the criminal and ultimately the criminal was arrested by the police team sent to Qazigund Kashmir for apprehending the accused. Further investigation of the case is going on.
