KP leaders of various organizations which met here this evening reiterated their demand of brining all the shrines and temples of the Valley under the ambit of the Shrine Board to be formed by the Government and no religious shrine or temple should be left out. The meeting which was organized by Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust a nodal organization of KPs for passage of the Bill stressed on its immediate passage in the same form in which the community has put forth its demand. Meeting said entire community including its those members residing outside the country as well as in Kashmir Valley have unanimity on passage of the Bill so no dilution on the same will be acceptable. Meeting taking serious exception to the reported move of one of the self styled trusts managing some temples in Valley expressing their unwillingness in handing over the temples under its control to Shrine Board said that no individual trusts or organizations should have right to continue after formation of board and they should cease to exist. KP organizations have said that these so called trusts have done major damage to the properties of the shrines in Valley in league with land mafia during the last 24 years of the turmoil. The meeting which was chaired by a prominent member of the community and a well known physician and writer Dr K L Chowdhary said community will come to streets. It passed a resolution to this effect and warned to hold a massive protest in front of Raj Bhawan on September 1. The resolution also in one voice said that no dilution on the transfer of shrines and temples to the Board will be acceptable to it. The meeting also decided to meet the members of Selection Committee once again and impress upon them to make recommendations accordingly so that the formation of Board becomes a reality in the coming session of State Assembly. The meeting however decided to meet all the individual trusts managing some shrines and temples in Valley and appeal them for cooperation in the smooth passage of the Bill to preserve the age old heritage centers of Valley.
