JAMMU, Dec 11: Terming the high claims of state's NC-Congress coalition of working towards mitigation of the sufferings of people in the state as false, BJP State President and MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma said that the common masses are made to suffer on account of unscheduled cuts of electricity in rural as well as urban areas. Jugal Kishore Sharma, while expressing grave concern over imposition of power cuts, said that these cuts are creating problems for students, housewives, patients, farmers etc. and the concerned department is sleeping. He said that in these days, when the students are preparing for their future examinations, they do not get electricity in evening hours as a result of which their studies are affected.
Similarly, the housewives find it difficult to manage kitchen work in absence of light. The patients are also suffering due to cuts. The farmers, who are now preparing for sowing new crop, do not get electricity to run their motors and other agriculture related equipments.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that these power cuts are imposed even in the areas where the department has completed electric metering.
Jugal Kishore Sharma asked the government to direct the concerned department to take immediate and effective steps to ensure that the people get regular supply of electricity failing which the people may left with no option but to come on roads. |
