Jammu, Dec 11: The Enforcement Staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation led by the Chief Enforcement Officer today sealed the premises of Gani Sham, son of Late Shadi Lal at 721-A, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu being run for commercial purpose under the name and style of "JK PORTRAIT". The owner of the building was booked under Control of Building Operation Act, 1988. Besides, team also demolished / removed the shutters of the shop at 434-A, Gandhi Nagar and demolished the walls on 1st floor at Shastri Nagar at Dhudhari Mandir, Jammu. The sealing and demolition has been launched with the assistance of police force from Gandhi Nagar Police Station and force from District Police Lines, Jammu. Meanwhile, JMC today seized 5 Kg of polythene bags and compounded a fee of Rs 5850 from defaulters. Health Officer, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Dr. Vinod Sharma along-with a team of Food Safety Officers, Assistant Sanitation Officers, Sanitary Inspectors and other field staff conducted an extensive tour in the areas like Panama Chowk Narwal of Jammu City to check the quality of commonly used food items. The team inspected various food establishments Halwai shops, fruit shops / rehries and compounding fee of Rs. 5850 (including smoking) was also realized from defaulters and about 5 kg of polythene was seized. During the round citizens were advised not to smoke in the public places as it is injurious to health. 9 persons were booked under COTP Act 2003 and fined Rs. 950 under section 4, 6(a), & 5 of COTP Act 2003. |
