| Congress committed for empowering of Panchayats: Lal Singh | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 6: Emphasizing upon empowerment of Panchayat representatives, Congress MP today Lal Singh roday reiterated that Congress is committed for the empowerment of Panchayats and implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment of Panchayati Raj. Meantime he also extended his moral support to the cause of Safai karamcharis - the down trodden section of society.
Addressing the Public meeting in Kathua, MP Lal Singh said Congress is committed for the empowerment of Panchayats and will continue its sincere efforts to get 73rd and 74th amendment of Panchayati Raj implemented in the state for empowering the Panchyati Raj. On this occasion Congress MP also exhorted the Panchayat representatives to exert pressure to get their demands mitigated.
Referring to the issues and problems of Safai karamcharis, he referred that Safai karamcharis across state are doing their job in most odd circumstances which can't be imagined by any individual but it is unfortunate that they are being paid meager wages for the last many years and many of them yet have not been regularized by the concerned administration be it Municipal Council or be it Municipal Committees.
On the conclusion of meeting, the Panchayat representatives present on this occasion apprised MP about the grievances. Former MLA Basohli, Kanta Choudhary was also present on the occasion. |
