One held with poppy straw 2/16/2014 11:36:25 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Feb 16 : Udhampur police seized over 5kg Poppy Straw (Bhukki) near Kud on National Highway from a truck and arrested one person. Police spokesman said that based on a specific input, a police team led by SHO Police Station Kud laid a surprise naka on National Highway near Kud and intercepted one suspicious truck bearing registration number PB10BZ-1162. "The smuggler who was travelling in the said truck tried to flee from the spot but were immediately nabbed by Police party. During the through search of the said truck, 5 kg 500 gr. Poppy Straw was recovered", said police spokesman adding that whole of the consignment was seized on the spot and vehicle seized. The arrested drug smuggler has been identified as Slam Din of Mlar Kot Amritsar.
