Kishtwar rape victim recounts her horror
Another accused arrested, family demands justice

Kishtwar, June 10:- A day after horrifying incident her made her dumb in despair, the minor rape victim recounted the dreadful incident that left her life changed permanently, to Early Times. The minor victim (name withheld) narrated that after finishing her school, she reached her home and as a routine, she embarked to dispose off the domestic waste, something that she do everyday. She said that as she was on her way back, the two accused intercepted her and over powered her and committed rape on her. She disclosed that one of the two accused took out a knife and threaten to kill her. She said that while she tried to raise an alarm, the accused put his hand on her mouth and she soon fell unconscious. Demanding stern action against the accused, she said that both outraged her modesty.
The victim who resisted the nefarious designs of the accused received bruises on her chest and back and the same was confirmed by the doctors at Thatri hospital where Kishtwar police conducted the medical examination of the victim. "Yes we have conducted the medical examination of the victim and prepared her Viginal swabs and sent the same for medical examination" said that doctor. He said that it is premature to reach any conclusion, but added that injury marks were found on the body of the victim. The father of the victim demanded justice for his daughter and demanded stern action against the accused and added that he will not sit quite till the guilty were punished.
The eyewitness who first reached the spot said that after noticing the people coming, both accused fleed from the spot on motorcycle, however the people managed to get hold of one of them and later handed him over to police. They said that the victim was unconscious and her clothes were torn. They said that with the help of the other locals, they shifted the victim to nearby Eidgah. They said that after regaining her conscious, the girl narrated the story and later the people brought the matter into the notice of police. Police on the basis of the statement registered case FIR No. 97 U/S 341/363/376 RPC. Meanwhile after hectic efforts, Kishtwar police today arrested the 2nd accused who was evading arrest after crime. The accused were identified as 22 year old Sudesh Kumar son of Karan Singh resident of Shandari Drabshala and 23 year old Nitin Chand son of Saroop Chand resident of village Gujjar Khotan while the 3rd person Manoj Kumar who is the friend of the two accused was released by the police after police did not find his involvement in the case. The locals informed ET that Sudesh Kumar has been charged of rape earlier also, but the case was hushed up as the victim was a relative of the accused. The other accused runs a J & K Bank Khidmat center outside the house of the victim. After arresting both the accused, Kishtwar police conducted the medical examination of both the accused at District Hospital Kishtwar.
