Secy CAPD for transparency procuring of quality of food grains

Udhampur, June 11: There would be no comprise with the quality of food grains as the government is committed to provide quality and standard food grains to the consumers in every nook and corner of the state, Secretary to Govt, CAPD Department, Baseer Ahmed Khan stated in a meeting today.
During this highy level meeting convened at Dak Banglow Udhampur to review the functioning of CAPD Department of town districts of Udhampur and Reasi, Secretary to Govt, CAPD Department, Baseer Ahmed Khan stressed upon the officers that there would be no compromise on the quality of food grains being supplied to the people, while instructing the officers not to accept sub-standard food grain from any quarter.
Khan stressed upon the officers to redouble their efforts for bringing more transparency in Public Distribution System so that the people living in urban as well as rural areas do not suffer for want of food grains. He asked the Assistant Directors to made frequent tours of their jurisdiction and monitor the supply position in their areas upto the level of fair price shop level.
The Secretary CAPD directed that those officers or officials in whose case outstanding/recoveries are pending on account of shortages of food grains be directed to deposit the same in one go otherwise the recoveries shall be effected under Arrears of Land Revenue Act as no one is allowed to retain the Govt. Money at any cost.
The Secretary directed Joint Director CAPD to periodically review and monitor the performance of districts of Jammu, Udhampur, Kathua, Reasi, Poonch and Rajouri on regular basis to evaluate the performance of each district so that necessary action would be initiated for the smooth functioning of the department. During his tour to Udhampur, he made physical inspection of Trikuta Roller Floor
Mill and lifted some samples.
Earlier Director, CAPD, Jammu, G S Chib, presented an detailed report of status of CAPD ration in Udhampur and Reasi districts.
Among others, Joint Director CAPD, Jammu S. Manmohan Singh, Chief Accounts Officer, CAPD, Assistant Directors of Udhampur and Reasi, Tehsil Supply Officers, Representative of FCI and SRTC were also present in the meeting.
