Jammu, June 11: Vishwakarma Dogra Labour Union (VDLU) demanded separate land to the landless labourers in the villages and a labour colony within the Municipal limits for labour class. Addressing press conference at Press Club, President VDLU, Kuldeep Raj Chalotra said that a big chunk of state population is still doing labour work even after the sixty five years of Independence. "We have requested the government to fulfill the genuine demands of Labour class but Government failed to provide their due share and justice to the labour class of J&K," he said. He further highlighted the demands including constitution of a separate Labour Advisory Board for welfare of Labour class, proper implementation of Government schemes MNREGA, IAY, old age pension and so many other government schemes of laboruers. He further warned the government that labour class has been compelled to grab power by participating in the coming assembly elections. Initially union will field candidates in the selected four or five segments and is sure to win all these seats, he added. Those who were present in the press conference included Kewal Krishan , Suresh Kumar, Hardeep Kour , Madan Lai and Parveen Kumal. |
