Jammu, July 28 : The former chief minister and PDP patron will contest assembly elections from Anantnag constituency as per reports There was speculation that after Mehbooba Mufti’s elevation to Parliament, her father may choose Wachi constituency to fight next assembly elections, but as per reliable sources, it is final now that Mufti Sayeed will like to contest the election from Anantnag constituency. Last time also he won comprehensively from this native constituency. Tariq Hamid Qarra who fought unsuccessful assembly election from Batmaloo constituency last time will be replaced by his wife this time as Tariq Hamid Qarra is now member of Parliament after defeating his nearest rival Dr.Farooq Abdullah of National conference. Tariq's wife enjoy tremendous support in Batmaloo constituency and will contest on PDP ticket as per sources. There might be new faces in Idgah, Baramulla, Samba, Bani and other areas where candidate's names will be announced after Eid. PDP is looking to sweep the polls in Kashmir valley and get maximum advantage in Jammu region after their specticular performance in recently held Parliamentary elections. When this correspondent contacted senior leader of PDP on reports that Rubaiya Sayeed may enter into politics and will contest election, he out rightly rejected this news and said that Rubaiya Sayeed, daughter of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to join politics out of question and it is just a rumour,he added. |
