JAMMU, July 31: Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department (H&UDD) took several high level review meetings separately to ascertain the progress of different projects going on in Jammu, including, multi-tier parking, Sewerage project and revision of Katra Master Plan. While reviewing the progress of multi-tier parking at Bus Stand, Secretary Satesh Nehru emphasized the need for expediting the project, keeping in view the traffic congestion in the area. He directed the Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority to take time bound action and announced that the project shall be inaugurated within a week. Satesh Nehru also reviewed the progress of sewerage project including work on the Sewerage Treatment Plant at Bhagwati Nagar, main sewerage trunk etc. Expressing satisfaction over the progress of work in last few months, he stressed that the work still needs to be expedited. He directed the Chief Engineer, UEED to get the project completed by the end of March, 2015. He was informed that the sewerage treatment plant at Bhagwati Nagar shall be completed within one month. It may be re-called that the prestigious project is being implemented at a cost of Rs 90 cr. Reviewing the progress of the revised Katra Master Plan, Nehru directed that the draft revised Master Plan of Katra may be put in public domain for inviting objections from the general public. The meetings were attended by the Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority, Director Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chief Engineer UEED, Chief Town Planner Jammu, Additional Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, S. E. UEED, CEO Katra Development Authority, besides others. |
