UDHAMPUR, Aug 19: Border Security Force (BSF) has started unique campaign to generate awareness and save environment through its motto "My Earth My Duty'' During this campaign all over two lakh saplings of plants in India will be planted simultaneously in just 30 minutes time from 1000hrs to 1030 hrs. To achieve the desired target STC BSF Udhampur has planted 2100 saplings in and around surrounding area of STC BSF Udhampur between 1000hrs to 1030hrs. The plantation drive was shared and inaugurated by Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA Udhampur as chief Guest in the presence of J C Singla, Deputy Inspector General STC BSF Udhampur. At theonset of the plantation drive a cultural programme focusing importance of trees and to refrain from their cutting and poaching was presented by recruits and troops of STC. In the campaign 1375 personnel of STC participate consist of fifteen officers, sixty So's, Fur Hundred OR's, Nine Hundred Recruit Constable and their families. Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA Udhampur and J. C Singla DIG along with his team of officers also planted the plant. |
