Pak’s ceasefire violations aimed at diverting public's attention: Expert
8/20/2014 11:42:43 PM
New Delhi, Aug 20: Security expert AlokBansal told a that Pakistan is creating tension along the Line Of Control (LOC) to divert the attention of its citizens from the ongoing internal turmoil.
Bansal said, "There is a political turmoil in Pakistan, supporters of Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and cleric TahirulQadri have entered the secured Red Zone of Islamabad during early hours of Wednesday demanding PM Nawaz Sharif's resignation. So, it has become important for the Pakistan Government to divert the attention of the people from internal matters." He asserted that Pakistan is violating the ceasefire and creating an atmosphere of stress so that the attention of the people of Pakistan is diverted towards the Line of Control.
Bansal also spoke about the meeting of Kashmiri separatist leaders with Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit.
"As far as inviting Hurriyat leaders by the Pakistan High Commission is concerned, it has been an ongoing process, and it has been going on for decades. I think that it is the weakness of the previous Indian Governments that they did not object to it," he said. "In contrast, we have to look at the Indian High Commission's dealings in Pakistan, nationalist forces in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) have been suffering for the want of support, but the Indian High Commission in Islamabad has never ever met their leaders,"Bansal added.
According to Bansal, the Government of India has also taken a step in the right direction by calling off the foreign secretary-level talks with the neighbouring country.
He said, "The government has clearly conveyed to Pakistan that they will not keep their eyes shut like previous governments to everything that Pakistan does.
