JAMMU, Aug 23: Government Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandir girls clinched the title trophy in the inter-school under-19 competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), here today. In the final, Mubarak Mandi defeated SOS School 3-2. Earlier, in the semifinals, SOS girls outplayed Presentation Convent 2-1 while HSS Mubarak Mandi defeated HSS Canal Road 5-3. The finals were witnessed by Deputy Director (Central), DYSS, Kanchan Bala. Hockey matches officiated by Harvinder Singh, Jajgeet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Gurmeet Singh. Meanwhile, in swimming, trials were conducted in both boys and girls sections to pick up the district team for the upcoming inter-district competition. HANDBALL: Girls: Government HSS Mubarak Mandi outplayed BSF Paloura 7-3. Earlier, in the semifinals, BSF Paloura beat Presentation Convent 4-2 and HSS Mubarak Mandi downed Government HSS Bahu Fort 9-3. SOFTBALL: Girls: BSF School Paloura won the final beating Government Higher Secondary School Domana 7-4 homes. Earlier, in the semifinals, HSS Domana beat HSS Gho Manhasan 9-2 homes. TENNIS BALL: Boys: Government SRML Higher Secondary School defeated Jodhamal Public School by one run in the final. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, SRML trounced Centre Basics HSS while Jodhamal outplayed MIER. |
