| GCW Gandhi Nagar celebrates Women's Equality Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: Women Studies Centre of Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar today celebrated Women's Equality Day by organizing an exhibition cum rally to educate the students about their social, political and financial rights. According to press release, speaking on the occasion Dr. Kiran Bakshi,Principal of the college stressed that women should be independent in all three senses i.e. emotionally, financially and physically and most importantly in their thought process they should be liberated, along with all the responsibilities. Giving an insight on rights of women, Convenor, Women Studies Centre Dr. Anjali Bhat also explained the students about the aspects which play a significant role in gender inequality i.e. issues like education gap and awareness about different rights. Later a rally was flagged off by the Principal of the college Dr. Kiran Bakshi with students holding placards displaying slogans on Women's Equality for awareness of general public in Gandhi Nagar area. Present on the occasion were members of Women Studies Centre, staff and students of the college. |
