| Manjit Singh seeks 5 marla plots, reservation to border people | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Aug 28: Senior Congress leader Manjit Singh has appealed state government to allot 5 marlas plot and reservation to border people. According to press release, a function was organised to mark the sacrifice of two farmers, by the Kissan Union of Vijaypur where he was chief guest. The former Minister said that from last 24 years when these two kissans were killed in police firing to till date the situation has not change with regard to power and drinking water. He said at that time too the people were forced to come on roads and today also people don't get adequate power supply."The administration and PDD department has failed to provide needed power supply forcing people to face hard ships," he said adding that the administration should meet demand of the people otherwise they would again be forced to come on roads. With regard to refugee and displaced persons issues, he appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to accept their one time settlement demand, ownership right on the property besides other demands. |
