Food Craft Institute Jammu Organizes Cooking Course for Ladies

Jammu, Aug 28: Food Craft Institute, Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu has organised an impressive cooking course of 6 days exclusively for ladies which has started from 25, August 2014. The Course Fee is Rs.15oo/- Per Person. The cuisines included are Indian and International. In International cuisines there are Italian, Mexican, Thai, Chinese etc.
There are around 20 ladies who have joined the course with full enthusiasm. The response to the advertisement was overwhelming and the trainees were selected on first come first admit basis. The trainees are showing keen interest in the dishes being prepared by the experienced faculty of FCI Jammu. Apart from 5 to 6 dishes a day, one mocktail of international standard is also being prepared by the faculty.
The Principal of the Institute Mr.Jyoti Bhatti briefed on the concept of conducting such trainings in the Institute which are aimed at making the less known dishes reach the every household of Jammu apart from getting a mileage for FCI out of it. The nominal fee being charged is to meet the cost on account of raw material, ingredients and not to earn huge profits out of it. The Institute is envisaging to conduct such kind of courses on regular basis keeping in view the response of local populace.
Even short term courses in Bakery & Patisserie have been planned by FCI which would help the local population to benefit out of such schemes of the Govt.
The Institute is also planning to conduct competition amongst the students of various schools in order to create an interest and encourage budding students to compete in these fields as lot many young children are vying to participate in various Junior Chef Competitions being held across the country. With these kind of competitions, the interest level amongst parents and children has shifted towards culinary skills for which FCI is well equipped to train and guide parents and children in respective fields.
Mr.Bhatti also informed that the Institute would start its campus near Jagti, Nagrota within few months and as such these type of courses would help FCI in establishing a Brand name in Jammu so as to start courses of longer duration which would help the students of this region in a long way.
