| Dr Jitendra takes stock of ongoing rescue operation in Reasi | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Sept 15 : Minister of State of Earth Sciences, Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh today took stock of the rescue and relief measures put in place to provide necessary help to the landslide and flood victims in Reasi. Dr. Singh got appraisal of the situation that has arisen due to incessant rains resulting in overwhelming flood and landslide particularly in Reasi district. Dr. Singh assured all possible help from the Government to the flood victims to overcome the difficulties and help relief and rehabilitation of the affected families. He asked DDC to submit a comprehensive memorandum of losses occurred due to floods/landslide to the government as soon as possible. Dr Singh also distributed relief material among the flood victims and also conducted the review meeting with district administration to review the relief work. During meeting with the district administration, District Development Commissioner, Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt gave an overview of situation and relief measures taken by the district administration to save the lives and evacuate people from the flood and landslide areas. DDC Informed that 20 death and 811house had been fully damaged, 1021 houses partially damaged, 390 cattle sheds damaged during flash flood/ landslide. Besides He said that 120 villages have been affected in the district due to flood and landslide. Among others, MLA Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma, MLC Jugal Kishor Sharma, SSP Reasi Vivek Gupta, Members of PRI and senior officers of the district were also present on the occasion. |
