| Administration fails to provide relief to affected people : Reen | | | Jammu, Sept 22: Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Gandhi Nagar constituency, Amrik Singh Reen today toured the flood and badly affected Rahim Nagar area of Raika Narwal and took stock of the problems being confronted by the people. During his tour, he met with the people affected by rain fall and floods where the residents of Rahim Nagar criticised the administration's approach towards their area.. They said that till now no govt official had come to look the conditions of public and loss and damage is not assessed by the the concerned officials. They alleged that the claims of Government attention are only papers not on ground reality. Reen said that the district administration involved in survey procedure of area are taking long time by the Patwaris and others officers in preparing lists and that's why relief process is totally failure. Reen said that Rahim Nagar is badly affected but administration has failed to provide any relief to the affected persons and families. He also urged the government to speed up the assessment of losses incurred due to incessant rains and ensure timely distribution of compensation for reconstruction and repair of the damaged houses, also compensation be made on account of mortality of lives stock and damaged cattle sheds. Reen was accompanied by Surjeet Lour, Madan Chalotra, Harmeet Singh, Varinder Singh Sonu, Sunil Saini, Gulam Hassan Sheikh and others. |
