Jammu, Sept 29: People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Chief Election Coordinator for Jammu Province, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that excessively delayed response of state government towards flood affected people and in rebuilding damaged health-care and other infrastructures in Jammu and Kashmir State is adding more miseries to people's woes. According to press release, there are many areas in Kashmir which are still inundated, uninterrupted power supply is yet to be restored, dewatering yet to pick up, homeless in South Kashmir stands ignored, Saddal landslide victims are craving for help, what's lying under the debris of Saddal village is yet to be known and many villages are still cut off from rest of the world because of damaged roads and bridges in entire state. Choudhary while expressing his prime concern over damaged health-care facilities in many areas including Kashmir said that doctors were unable to perform surgeries or treat patients in absence of infrastructure that has been completely damaged in floods. A good number of wards, OPDs, operation theatres, diagnostic laboratories and state-of-the-art machines are all tarnished beyond repair. The PDP leader asked government to be sensitive towards these issues and put in best efforts to rebuild infrastructure but equip hospitals and health centres centers with medicines and medical equipments so that patients could be treated well and previous lives saved. |
