| Union Minister invokes LPU students to Join mission 'Developed India' | | | Agencies
Jammu/Jallandhar Sept 29 : Union Cabinet Minister General (Retd) V K Singh visited Lovely Professional University (LPU) today and inaugurated the 'master lecture series' for students. In his inaugural address to LPU students during 'Seminar on Role of Youth in Nation Development' the Union Minister, Singh exhorted students to bring a remarkable change in the society to take India to greater heights. An Army officer to being a politician-Minister of State for External Affairs and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region, the former army chief guided students to contribute in developing the country. Sharing his military experiences with students, Gen (Retd) Singh told students, "Army operations are always successful as there is unity of purpose in a particular manner- there are no language, religion, caste and creed constraints." "So is in your university, I ask you all to rise and shine by forgetting all differences, he said and added, "Your energy will lead you to those heights for which no one else can even dream about." He said, "You are the people to decide the future of the country." Commenting upon roles to be performed by the youth, he made it clear that these can be any of the fields-be it cleanliness, law and order, literacy mission, or useful schemes of the government. Also guiding the faculty Singh said: "We elders have to inculcate a great feeling of getting together among students to bring a massive change. We have a large percentage of youth in the country, and we should give our learning to the youth for action. We are to be there to assist and guide youth to be on the right path." Union minister Singh also appreciated the functioning and facilities being provided to the students at the university and interacted with students and discussed various roles youth ought to play for the propagation and development of the country.
