srinagar, Sept 30: The tall claims of state government for providing proper facilities like accommodation, food, internet, mobile connectivity, FAX etc seems to have fallen flat as after 26 days of catastrophe, the water is still logged at many places and there is lack of basic facilities .
After the floods, number of government employees who belong to Jammu province left valley including locals to wait for restoration of normalcy, but the incumbent state government issued an order to all its employees to return to the duties failing which they will be taken to task and an action will be taken under rule.
The claims of the administration fell flat as there is no telephone, mobile, internet, FAX working in office as yet..The restoration process will take a month at least and without proper and basic facilities, the government employees cannot work and at present are not able to work. With no proper communication, no proper transportation and accommodations, how it is possible for both Civil Secretariat and Assembly Secretariat to function. Same is the story of other offices in the Srinagar city and its adjoining areas.
Lal Chowk is still not opened, nor the fashioned Residency Road shops as extensive damages have been done. On the conditions of anonymity, many employees both locals as well as returned employees share their views with Early Times, said that either government is fooling us or they are themselves confused or living in fool's paradise. There is still no restoration of communication, working conditions and atmosphere, and there is hardly less than a month left for annual darbar move to Jammu, so why government asked us to return to work.
Many were of the opinion that it is irony that asking we people to return under present conditions is ridiculous and instead, the darbar move should have taken place well one month advance instead asking us to return for nothing.
They further said that they have no proper accommodations, here and it is very difficult to work under present conditions. There is total chaos and confusion among the higher ups in the government and no coordination among different department of the State government.
