10/30/2014 10:16:11 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 30: National Secular Forum (NSF) has strongly criticized some of the employees of Life Insurance Corporation Branch Shalamar, who have been harassing the policyholders, for getting some pecuniary benefits and have been bringing disrepute to the organization.
Addressing media persons, NSF President Sukhdev Singh said that few mischievous employees of LIC Branch Shalamar misbehaved and harassed majority of policy holders, who have deposited money in the Branch. "These employees are public servants and are getting salary only through the money, deposited by the policy holders and inspite of helping the policy holders, they have been acting as bosses and deliberately delay the return of policy", he said.
He further said that in actual sense these employees were searching the pockets of poor policyholders. "After any untoward or unfortunate incident with the policy holder and when the claimant is in need of help of the money deposited by his old ones, these employees started harassing them", he said.

He further maintained that according to norms it was the responsibility of these employees to visit the house of policy holder and handed over the policy amount to the claimant but quite opposite to it these employees forced the claimants to make rounds of office, time and again, only to extract some money. "If some claimant offer them money, the policy amount is easily handed over and the case is solved and even some employees have been terming the greasing of palms as a routine affair and have been legalizing it", he alleged.
