Is Kichloo serious about dragging whistleblower KAS officer to court? | Rejects allegations about he being involved in multi crore scam | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Oct 30: Unnerved, by the disclosures of Director Industries and Commerce Dr Abdul Rashid, about his involvement in a land allotment scam to entrepreneurs, Minister of State for Home, Industries and Commerce Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo today threatened legal action against the officer. Following the revelations made by Dr Rashid, Kichloo had allegedly used his influence to get him transferred on October 21, 2014 after latter had exposed a scandal to the tune of several crores, involving the minister and a businessmen of Jammu. However, the transfer order was stayed by the High Court. Describing the accusations as a figment of Dr. Rashid's imagination, MoS Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo, who is also a senior National Conference leader while talking to "Early times" said, "Officer is hiding behind his own failures in disseminating duties at such a high office as that of Director I&C, Jammu." He condemned the action of Dr. Abdul Rashid who he said had tried to drag his name in a routine government business which falls in his domain and not that of the Minister. "I am contemplating to take legal action against him by filing a defamation suit in the Court of law." Kichloo too has toed the line of other politicians who after getting "exposed" threaten the whistleblower of dire consequences and dragging him to the court. In the recent past the Provincial President of the National Conference Devender Singh Rana too had announced that he would sue Sajad Gani Lone when he leveled serious allegations against him. Similarly the senior BJP leader Ashok Khajuria had threatened to file a defamation case against the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, after Omar alleged that he along with others use to approach his father (Dr Farooq Abdullah) for money. In the past six years there have been many instances wherein politicians have threatened to move court but their assertions have remain confined to papers only. It seems they fear that if they seek the legal recourse it may open Pandora 's Box and can put them in more trouble. In order to substantiate his claim Minister had sent the rebuttal duly signed by Dr Rashid so that the matter is resolved once for all. Now it remains to be seen would he approach the court after issuing a rebuttal or would forget about the issue. Pertinently, Early Times, carried a detailed story about alleged involvement of the Minister in Illegal SIDCO land allotment scam earlier this month. |
