Rajouri , Oct 30 : Rashpal Singh, MLA from Kalakot could be booked as the maiden violator of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) in Rajouri district.
As per sources MLA , Kalakot today organised a motor rally from Kalakot to Shahdra Sharief reportedly without the prior information and permission from the concerned authorities.
As the rally after passing through Rajouri city reached Thanamndi , some activists of People Forum noticed large number of vehicles heading towards Shahdra Sharief , a world famous shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badsha, and informed the District Election Officer (DEO).
DEO directed Nodal Officer MCC to verify the complaint and accordingly RO, Rajouri constituency was informed and asked to initiate action.
Yogesh Kesar, RO, Rajouri constituency, when contacted by The Early Times , he said that the investigation is on and suitable action under the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI) will be taken against the MLA if found involved in violating MCC. MCC, Nodal Officer said that as per his initial information, MLA Kalakot had not taken the permission for the rally and the expenditure incurred for the rally may be added to his election expenditure account. |
