Madan reiterates demand for 'Regional Council’ for Jammu on Ladakh pattern

Akhnoor, Oct 30: Veteran Congress leader and Former Minister and MP Madan Lal Sharma demanded Regional Council for Jammu Region on the pattern of Leh and Kargil hill development councils to ensure the timely, required amount of direct funding from Centre apart from other benefits to the Jammu Region.
While addressing election meetings at Bharda ,Dasgal in favour of MLA Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma, former Congress MP said that both he and Sham Lal Sharma have always strongly voiced for the interests of the Jammu Region and remained controversial from outside and within the Party.
"We haven't adopted double standards and pampering policy but bluntly raise issues which effects the life of our people directly or indirectly, Sharma said while adding, "development which Sham Lal Sharma has carried out in Akhnoor is testimony to the fact that we not only speak but also perform on ground." Lauding his brother's initiatives, he said, "Akhnoor today is one of the model and finest Constituency which is growing fastly in light of it being ignored for long time and People of Akhnoor must vote in favour of Sham Lal Sharma to complete the pending works and to realize the dreams of people of Akhnoor." He said that Sham Lal Sharma during his tenure as horticulture Minister has given gifts of big parks like one in Bharda apart from many other infrastructural support throughout Akhnoor in Education, Health, PWD, PHE, PDD sectors.
Ex MP said that Congress will be the part of any future government in the State and people should send Sham Lal Sharma in State Cabinet with majority so that their interests are watched fully.
Prominent among who accompanied the Congress leader included Subash Langer, Sarpanch Jagdish Raj, Kuldip Raj, EX Sarpanch Krishan Lal, Dharam Chand, Working President Mahila Wing, Puran Chand Sharma (Rtd) ZEO, and Baldev Raj Bhagat (Rtd) ZEO.
