Doda, Nov 20: Campaigning through the higher reaches of Kuland, Tron, Dhara, Nagbatna and Bonjwah in Doda and Inderwal Assembly Constituencies today, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that BJP is the only political party which seriously cares for the hill States and whenever it is in power, it has kept its commitment of formulating several new development plans and schemes for these areas.
At all the places visited by him today,Dr Jitendra Singh received a tumultous welcome and particularly at Bonjwah, the native village of BJP's Inderwal candidate Tariq Keen, thousands of people including religious clerics came out to receive him. Recalling that it was the then BJP led NDA Government under Atal Behari Vajpayee, which had created the Ministry for the Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER) of which he is presently in-charge, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that during the last six months of the Narendra Modi led BJP government, several new schemes were approved for hill States like Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The BJP leadership, hailing from the grassroots, is capable of sensitively responding to the requirements and aspirations of people living in the hilly terrains which is quite in contrast to the record of several decades of Congress-National Conference regime in the State, where most of the ruling politicians spent their time in encroaching land and building shopping malls in cities and suburbs. |
