GDC Akh holds workshop on 'Jam, Jelly and Pickles preparation' 11/20/2014 11:26:31 PM Early Times Report Akhnoor, Nov 20: Govt Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor in collaboration with Department of J&K State Council for Sciences and Technology organized a day long workshop on preparation of Jam, Jelly and Pickles (Post Harvest Technology). Additional Director of DST Jammu Shajat Sultan in his inaugural address highlighted the objective of workshop and said that it is aimed on the entrepreneurship in rural areas for setting up the units of different skills. In formal welcome address-Principal GDC Akhnoor Dr Asha Gupta highlighted the significance of post harvest technology and welcome the gathering present on the occasion. Earlier the workshop was started with the lightening of traditional lamp by the Guest followed by Sarswati Vandna. Dr Jullie Bandral and Dr Monika Sood Asstt Prof from SKUAST also delivered lectures and gave demonstration on the subject. The programme was actively coordinated by Shruti Khanna from Department of Science & Technology and Dr Chander Shekhar Convenor IQAC and Poonam from GDC Akhnoor. About 200 hundred students of GDC Akhnoor participated in this workshop & experience how to prepare Jam/Jelly/Pickles.
